Discover the magic of the Picos de Europa with a horse riding route that you won't forget.
Starting just 6 km from Potes, experience a 2-hour guided route with 2 possible routes, which may vary depending on the weather. Enter the forest, cross the village of Cohorco and go up to Collado La Huerta, with amazing views of the eastern massif. Or take another equally spectacular route through the picturesque villages of Lles and Viñón, surrounded by nature, livestock and tranquillity.
In both cases, you don't need any previous experience: just relax, follow the rhythm of the horse and let yourself be enveloped by nature.
What we will do
We will meet 10 minutes before the agreed time at the equestrian centre in Cillorigo de Liébana, just 6 km from Potes, in the heart of the Picos de Europa. There we will be met by the equestrian guide, who will explain the route and help us to get equipped, so that we feel comfortable and safe from the very first moment.
Before riding, we will be given a brief explanation of how to handle the horse: how to get on and off, how to communicate with it and some basic safety notions to enjoy the ride even if it is your first time. Then we will be assigned a horse according to our profile, and we will go out in a group, always accompanied by 1 or 2 monitors. The groups are small, with a maximum of 8 people, so the experience is very close and personalised.
Depending on the weather, we will take one of 2 spectacular 2-hour routes: we will go up to Collado La Huerta, through a beautiful forest and passing through the small and charming village of Cohorco, where the views of the eastern massif of the Picos de Europa will leave us speechless.
Alternatively, we can take an equally spectacular route that will lead us to discover the villages of Lles and Viñón, two jewels of the area. You will stroll along their paths surrounded by vibrant nature, listen to the soft murmur of the cattle grazing nearby and breathe that pure and calm air that only the mountains can give you.
In both cases, we will always be accompanied by our guide, who will tell us interesting facts about the environment.
At the end, we will return to the equestrian centre, where we will say goodbye to our four-legged companions with that mixture of calm and joy that only nature can give us.
In total there will be approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes of connection with nature and an experience that you will surely want to repeat.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for children aged 10 and over. Minors can participate accompanied by a responsible adult.
The activity is easy, ideal even if it is your first time on horseback.
To participate, you must not exceed 110 kg in weight.
The activity is not suitable for wheelchair users or pregnant women.
In case of reduced mobility requiring minimal assistance, participation is possible but you must inform the organisers in advance. You will receive the contact details in the email confirming your booking.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
