Camino de Santiago and western riding?
Yes, you read that right. On this horseback ride through Montserrat, the emblematic pilgrimage meets the free spirit of American riding for a unique adventure in the heart of Catalonia.
Accompanied by an expert equestrian guide, you will discover the most suggestive corners of the Natural Park of Montserrat, between trails with gentle hills and flat areas.
Get ready for 1 hour of relaxation in the heart of nature!
What we will do
The appointment will be 10 minutes before the selected time, at the meeting point in Castellbell i el Vilar, in the province of Barcelona.
We will be met by the equestrian guide, ready with the horses already saddled to begin the experience. After an introductory briefing of about 15 minutes, during which we will learn how to give basic commands to the horse, we will get into the saddle and start the 5 km route, which runs along a section of the Camino de Santiago.
As soon as we leave, and still in the grounds of the ranch, we will be able to see the hermitage of Sant Jaume de Castellbell, from the 12th century. We will walk along paths with gentle slopes, alternating ascents, descents and flat stretches at the foot of the impressive Montserrat Mountain.
During the route we will find meadows, woods and a small river before ascending to a panoramic area surrounded by cereal fields. From there we will have the best views of the unmistakable profile of Montserrat, which will rise majestically in front of us.
We will return to the starting point taking with us the wonderful memory of this experience.
The activity will last a total of 1 hour and a quarter, of which 1 hour will be spent riding.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for children aged 12 and over. Children under the age of 18 can participate with a signed authorisation from a guardian.
The activity is easy, perfect even for first-time riders.
A maximum weight of 90 kg is required to participate.
The activity is not suitable for people with mobility problems or pregnant women.

The timetable may vary slightly. In this case, the organiser of the activity will contact you beforehand.
American style riding is used. The guide participates on horseback, but if necessary, he can accompany the group on foot. In case of large groups, two guides will participate.
Important: please inform the organiser of your weight, height and level of experience in advance via WhatsApp (no phone calls) . You will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.
Accompanying persons can wait at the equestrian centre. Dogs are not allowed.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point is not accessible by public transport, but if requested in advance it is possible to hire a transfer service from Castellbell i el Vilar station for groups of up to 4 people at a cost of 20 euros each way.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
