Can you imagine floating over a submerged volcanic jungle surrounded by wildlife?
Dive into the protected waters of Cabo de Gata and discover a fascinating ecosystem during a complete 2 hour experience. Forget the daily stress and move freely over immense Posidonia meadows. Learn to identify colourful fish with professional guides on a route adapted to your level. It is the perfect moment to conquer the seabed and connect with the purest nature of Almeria.
What we will do
We will meet 10 minutes beforehand at the meeting point in San José, in the heart of Cabo de Gata. The exact spot will be adapted to the wind of the day to ensure the best conditions, meeting us at Cala Higuera or La Calilla. There the team will welcome us and we will begin to prepare for the adventure, equipping us with goggles, snorkel, fins and neoprene if the weather requires it. Once ready and with the safety buoy set up, we will head for the shore with professional guides ready to help us every step of the way.
Before entering the water, they will explain the design of the route through a dynamic talk adapted to all levels. We will learn how these waters have been protected for more than 30 years, which has generated a unique biodiversity together with impressive volcanic formations. The guides will teach us about the importance of the Posidonia oceanica meadows that purify the water and serve as a refuge, preparing us to identify everything we will see under the surface.
Finally, we will slide into the water and swim smoothly following a safe itinerary where we will always be able to see the bottom from the surface. We will get a close look at fascinating species such as salema, bream, bream, bream, grouper, starfish and octopus hidden among the rocks. Experienced divers who wish to improve their freediving skills will be able to descend with their guide to a maximum depth of 9 metres , while beginners will enjoy floating peacefully.
At the end of the route, we will return to dry land to discuss the experience and get out of the sun. In total, we will enjoy a 2 hour experience of pure disconnection and underwater adventure.
Who it is aimed at
This experience is suitable for beginners from the age of 6 years old.
It is necessary to know how to swim and feel comfortable in the water in order to complete the route with complete confidence.
Minors can participate as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
Pregnant women are not recommended for prevention and safety reasons.
This activity is not suitable for people with reduced mobility due to the natural access to the coves.

The activity is available every day of the year with morning and afternoon departures.
It is confirmed with 1 participant. The maximum group size is 6 people.
The average depth of the snorkelling route is around 3 metres, reaching a maximum depth of 9 metres for the most advanced profiles.
The meeting point will be adapted according to the direction of the wind, meeting you in Cala Higuera if the wind blows from the east or in La Calilla if the wind blows from the west.
Free parking is available in the vicinity of either meeting point.
It is not possible to arrive by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund!
