Full description
Swap the stresses of everyday life for the murmur of the water and the exhilarating rush of the small rapids on the River Umia.
Tackle the current in a kayak on an exhilarating group trip lasting between two and a half and three hours between As Seixas and Cabanelas. Guided by an expert instructor, you’ll make your way through fun mini-rapids surrounded by wild and stunning vegetation, whilst also enjoying a well-deserved 20-minute stop for a dip. The ultimate burst of freshness and adrenaline to kick-start your week in one go!
What we will do
We’ll meet about 15 minutes before the booked time at the meeting point in Cambados, Pontevedra. After a brief preparation session of around 20 to 30 minutes, during which we’ll be given our lifejackets, paddles, sit-on-top kayaks and a waterproof bag to protect our belongings, we’ll attend an informative safety briefing where we’ll learn the basic paddling techniques.
We’ll set off from As Seixas to begin an exciting group river descent. Along the route, we’ll alternate between stretches of complete tranquillity – perfect for marvelling at the riverside woodland and local wildlife – and really fun sections dotted with small rapids that’ll add a thrill to the journey. About halfway through the route, we’ll make a fantastic 20-minute stop to take a dip and stretch our legs.
We’ll arrive at Cabanelas, the end point of the route, where the organisers will collect us and arrange our return transport to the starting point. Once we disembark, we’ll have direct access to the changing rooms and showers to freshen up after a total experience lasting around two and a half to three hours (the exact time will depend on the group’s paddling speed) .
Who it is aimed at
Suitable for beginners and all fitness levels. No previous canoeing experience is required.
The minimum age to take part is 4 years. All participants (including children) must be able to swim. Children under 12 must always be accompanied by an adult in the boat or have a signed authorisation form.
We will be paddling in super-stable two-person kayaks . If you prefer to paddle solo, the organisers have an exclusive fleet of just 10 single kayaks (available at an additional cost) .
This activity is not permitted for pregnant women and, due to the physical nature of the terrain and the boarding process, is not recommended for people with reduced mobility.
Pets are not permitted.

Important: as weather and logistical conditions may affect the river, you will need to confirm the exact meeting point with the organisers in advance.
Available all year round, every day.
The trip is run as a shared tour in groups of at least 1 participant (in summer, from May to October) or at least 10 people the rest of the year, up to a maximum of 50 paddlers.
The meeting point has a free car park. It is not accessible by public transport, so we recommend travelling by car.
In addition, you can enquire about the availability of optional food and drink services, home collection or professional photography packages.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is last minute. You get a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours from the activity start. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
