Full description
Get ready to make your way through the natural border between Dénia and Jávea to a unique spot in the Mediterranean.
Paddle a two-seater kayak through the Cabo de San Antonio Marine Reserve on a 3-hour trip . Guided by a qualified instructor, you’ll paddle along the cliffs of Les Rotes to Cova Tallada, where you’ll put on your snorkelling goggles to swim in its crystal-clear waters, explore its historic caverns with a head torch in hand, and discover the secrets of this coastal enclave.
What we will do
We’ll meet up about 15 minutes before the booking time at the meeting point in Cala Les Rotes, Dénia, to get together with the team and carry out the preliminary preparations at our leisure. We’ll be welcomed there, and we’ll be kitted out with life jackets and paddles. Before getting into the water, the guides will give us a brief briefing on the basics of handling a two-seater kayak, safety at sea and the route we’ll be taking.
We’ll get into the water and paddle for around 20 minutes along the stunning cliffs of the Cabo de San Antonio Marine Reserve until we reach the spectacular entrance to Cova Tallada. We’ll disembark at the cave to enjoy a natural pool, where we’ll put on our masks and snorkels to observe the marine life in this protected area. Next, we’ll put on our helmets with headlamps and spend about 15 minutes exploring the cave’s interior galleries, discovering its chambers and learning about the history of tosca stone quarrying between the 12th and 14th centuries.
We’ll take a few minutes’ break to recharge our batteries before getting back into the kayaks and setting off on the return journey along the coast towards Les Rotes, rounding off an exciting 3-hour experience in total.
