Leave your daily routine behind on the beach and set off to discover the coves and sea stacks of the Asturian coast from the water.
Explore the coast of Llanes on a 2-hour guided kayaking tour. You’ll set off from Celorio or La Franca beach accompanied by an expert instructor, skirting hidden coves, spotting marine life and venturing into spectacular blowholes carved into the limestone cliffs. A perfect adventure for all levels, including informative stops, technical equipment and time to take a dip in the sea.
What we will do
We’ll meet 15 minutes before the start time at the meeting point, which, depending on sea conditions, will be either La Franca beach or Celorio, in Llanes, Asturias. The guide who will be accompanying us on our excursion will be waiting for us there . They will welcome us and we will head to the area where the boats are moored to begin our preparations.
We’ll attend a short , 10-minute theory session during which the instructor will explain the basic paddling techniques, how to handle the kayak and the essential safety rules for paddling at sea. Next, we’ll put on our life jackets (and thermal base layers if the weather requires it) , pick up our double-bladed paddles and leave our belongings in storage so we can head out onto the water in complete comfort.
We’ll climb into the kayaks and set off on our journey along the Asturian coastline. Depending on the starting point, the landscape will surprise us in different ways. If we set off from Celorio, we’ll paddle past small islands and hidden coves, getting a close-up view of the marine life on the cliffs, weather permitting. If we set off from La Franca, we’ll head for the ‘bufones’ – limestone formations where erosion by water and wind has created spectacular natural geysers.
During the trip, the guide will make several stops to explain the interesting features of the surroundings, the formation of the caves and the rock castles. Furthermore, weather permitting, we’ll make the most of one of these breaks to take a refreshing dip in the Cantabrian Sea before heading back.
Finally, we’ll paddle back to our starting point to disembark, return the equipment and say goodbye to the instructor after a day spent immersed in nature. The activity will last a total of 2 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for children aged 4 and over; children under this age must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
The route is suitable for all ability levels, so no previous experience is required to enjoy the trip.
You do not have to be able to swim to take part in the activity , but it is highly recommended. All participants must wear a life jacket at all times during the trip.
Pregnant women may take part in the experience at their own risk.
This excursion is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
Other information
The tour runs from May to October (with daily departures) and is confirmed once a minimum of two participants has been reached. The maximum group size is 20 people.
IMPORTANT: Due to varying tides and sea conditions, the times given (10. 00 and 16. 00) are approximate. It is absolutely essential to contact the organisers at least 24 hours before the activity to confirm the exact departure time and the final meeting point (La Franca Beach or Celorio) .
Parking is available on site ; it may be free or subject to a charge depending on the time of year. We recommend arriving in good time to ensure you can park easily.
The meeting point is not very accessible by public transport, as although there are a few bus routes available in summer, services are infrequent for the rest of the year.
The facilities include designated areas where you can get changed and a secure place to store your personal belongings and valuables during the excursion.
Single and double kayaks are available.You can specify your preference when making your booking.
Dogs are allowed on the activity: please contact the guide using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email to let them know your pet will be joining you.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
