Guided kayak route around Morro de Toix and caves from Altea

Sail beneath towering cliffs and discover the hidden secrets of Altea's sea caves!

Enjoy a 2-hour guided excursion to the majestic Morro de Toix, where you'll paddle flanked by vertical walls almost 200 metres high. This easy level tour is perfect for beginners and families, allowing you to kayak into mysterious caves such as the famous Cova dels Coloms. Combine the physical exercise with a refreshing stop to swim in turquoise waters and watch the local fauna, such as octopus and fish, hiding in the rocks. What we will do

We will be met 15 minutes before the agreed time at the meeting point in the Marina Greenwich Marina in Altea. After introductions, we will receive an initial briefing of about 5 to 10 minutes where we will be explained the basics of paddling, the itinerary and safety rules. Afterwards, we will receive all the necessary technical equipment - the kayak (single, double or triple depending on the booking), the paddle and the life jacket - ready to start the trip.

Once in the water, we will start the navigation leaving the port towards the beautiful Mascarat Cove. From there, we will paddle towards the imposing cliff of Morro de Toix, marvelling at its vertical walls almost 200 metres high and contemplating the old "pesqueras", fascinating traditional constructions carved directly into the rock by fishermen from another era.

The most magical moment will come when we reach the tip of the cape, where we will receive indications from the instructor to go into the interior of marine hollows such as the Cova dels Coloms. Between crevices and nooks and crannies where the light plays with the turquoise water, we will see small natural shelters where octopuses and colourful fish live and shelter from the currents.

Halfway along the route, if the group wishes, we will make a pleasant stop for 15 or 20 minutes to enjoy a refreshing swim in an area of crystal clear water. Finally, we will paddle back to the marina with active muscles, a clear mind and the satisfaction of having conquered this Alicante paradise after completing a spectacular 2-hour route.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is suitable for beginners.

The minimum age is 16 years old to go alone, or from 5 years old if accompanied by an adult.

It is not necessary to know how to swim, as the use of a life jacket is compulsory. In addition, the swim stop is optional.

For safety reasons, this experience is only recommended for pregnant women if the sea is calm; otherwise, it is not recommended.

The activity could be adapted for people with reduced mobility or in wheelchairs, and it is necessary to let the organisers know in advance to coordinate the logistics.

Other information

The experience is available all year round, every day, always adapting to the weather and sea conditions.

It is a group activity (minimum 3, maximum 40 participants) , with a limit of up to 20 people per instructor.

The port has a paying car park (there are very few free spaces, which in high season fill up early in the morning) .

There are no direct public transport links to the area, so a car or taxi is recommended.

Pets are welcome on the route, as long as they are not too large and can be accommodated on the boat.
