Do you dare to master the waves of Tarifa?
Join this introductory group surfing class in the most vibrant spot in the south of Spain. Under the expert guidance of the instructors you will learn techniques such as pop-up and paddling and you will be able to connect with the energy of the Atlantic.
Feel the rush of your first wave in Tarifa- you won't regret it!
What we will do
We will arrive 5 minutes before the booking time at the meeting point in front of the beach in Tarifa. The instructor will meet us at the parking area, where we will introduce ourselves and receive the equipment.
We will then be moving towards the beach. We will walk with the boards to the shore with the rest of the group of our level, where we will start talking about the sea conditions of that day. We will have a complete briefing about the activity and the safety rules that will prepare us for what awaits us in the water.
On the sand we will warm up and learn the basic movements and techniques that will allow us to ride our first waves: how to paddle in the lying position, the transition phase and the pop-up that will allow us to take off!
Once in the water, the instructor will guide us in turns from the wave area, giving us constant feedback to correct our posture and improve our speed and turn control. We are convinced that, even if it is the first time, the sea of Tarifa will not resist us!
We will finish with a necessary stretching session before we say goodbye. The total duration of the experience will be about 2 and a half hours.
Who it is aimed at
No experience is necessary and participation is open to children from the age of 9.
Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult. From 15 years of age it is possible to participate with the authorisation of a legal guardian.
It is compulsory to know how to swim. If you do not know how to swim, you can take the class privately.
It is not recommended for pregnant women.
It is not accessible for people with motor disabilities.
If you have any doubts about the suitability of the experience, consult your doctor.
Other information
The class is available from April to October and is confirmed when a minimum group of 3 people is reached.
Depending on the sea conditions, it may be necessary to change beaches and move to Valdevaqueros or Algeciras. The instructor will advise you in advance of any changes.
Please note that there are no changing rooms or lockers on site. You can leave your personal belongings in the instructor's van.
Non-participating companions may stay on the beach and watch the class as spectators or take a walk around the area.
This is not a dog-friendly beach, but dogs are usually allowed in the area if they are on a leash and well behaved.
During the activity some souvenir photos are usually taken.
Free parking is available on the beach. The bus station is about 10 minutes walk away.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is last minute. You get a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours from the activity start. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
