Full description

If the law of gravity always wins, unless you’re falling onto fresh snow.

At the Sierra Nevada resort, a 3-hour group skiing or snowboarding course awaits you – ideal for beginners or for honing your technique in groups of up to 8 people, organised by age and ability. You’ll take the Al-Ándalus cable car up the mountain for a learning experience with qualified instructors.

Get ready to make progress, whatever your level.

What we will do

The instructor will meet us about 10 minutes before the class starts at the Sierra Nevada resort. To avoid being late if we choose the option that includes equipment hire, we’ll need to be at the designated meeting point 1. 5 hours in advance, or collect the equipment the previous afternoon so that everything is ready to go.

To get to the meeting point, you’ll take the Ál-Andalus cable car. After a round of introductions, the instructor will assess our ability to group us by age and skill level. The lessons are fully tailored to the needs of each group, of up to 8 people, across 4 distinct levels.

Over the course of a 3-hour lesson in our chosen discipline (skiing or snowboarding) , we’ll glide through the ski area, gaining confidence and fluency. Depending on our level, we can start from scratch and take our first steps on the slopes, begin practising parallel turns, or even perfect turns and other techniques.

Taking into account the preparatory work and initial instructions, the activity will last a total of approximately three and a half hours.

Who it is aimed at

The course is suitable for all levels from the age of 4.

Children must be accompanied to the meeting point and authorisation from a legal guardian is required.

Participants are grouped by age and ability, so you’ll need to contact the ski school to let them know your child’s age and ability. You’ll receive the contact details in your booking confirmation email.

This activity is not recommended for pregnant women.

The lessons are not accessible to people with disabilities.

Other information

Lessons take place during the ski resort’s opening season, roughly from late November to early April.

Group lessons are confirmed subject to a minimum of 3 participants.

IMPORTANT: the ski pass is not included. If you do not have one, the ski school can arrange this for you in advance. You will receive their contact details in the booking confirmation email.

If you choose the option with equipment hire included, you will need to collect it in advance from the Dornajo Building in Plaza Andalucía, Pradollano.

The class levels are as follows:

Skiing

  • Level A – Beginner: you have never skied before. You’ll start from scratch, learning how to handle the equipment and take your first steps on the slopes.
  • Level B – Beginner: learn wedge turns and begin the transition to parallel turns.
  • Level C – Intermediate: you’ve mastered basic parallel turns and can ski confidently on green and blue runs.
  • Level D – Advanced: you can ski in parallel on any type of run and are perfecting long and short turns, as well as other techniques.

Snowboarding

  • Level A – Beginner: has never snowboarded before. First experience with the board and learning the basic stance.
  • Level B – Beginner: learn to slide and make your first turns with confidence.
  • Level C – Intermediate: improves board control, links turns with ease and moves independently around the resort.
  • Level D – Advanced: refine your technique and control of the board, with the option to try your hand at freeriding or freestyle.

There are pay-and-display car parks in the area leading to the Al-Ándalus cable car. It is also possible to reach the area by public transport.
