Would you like to discover the secrets of the Canarian 'green gold' while you work the land with your own hands?
Enjoy a 2-hour experience in the heart of the Anaga Massif in Tenerife, where you can become a farmer for a day learning how to prune and harvest avocados. To finish, enjoy a full Km 0 breakfast under a porch with views, including homemade guacamole, honey from the farm and typical Canarian products.
What we will do
We will meet 10 minutes before the agreed time at the farm located in the Tahodio Valley, a unique enclave within the Anaga Rural Park. There we will be warmly welcomed and, after a brief introduction about the volcanic soil and the agricultural history of the family that takes care of these lands, we will get down to work. We will receive gloves and pruning shears because here we will be farmers for a day: we will learn how to remove dry branches, how to take care of the trees and, of course, how to harvest the avocados and limes at the right moment.
During the walk through the plantation, we will discover endemic plants and their uses in traditional remedies, while observing from afar the beehives on the property. We will be able to take pictures among the fruit trees and collect the necessary ingredients for our next stop. After the field work, we will take refuge in an open porch to enjoy a Km 0 breakfast with high tables and a relaxed atmosphere.
We will enjoy a feast including coffee, tea and seasonal fruit juices from Tenerife. The star dish will be wholemeal or seeded bread toast with freshly made guacamole and typical Canarian ham. We will also try some delicious homemade jams, fresh cheese, honey from the beehives we saw earlier and a piece of homemade cake. Before we say goodbye, we will toast the day with a glass of Tenerife wine, taking home the learning of a morning of pure Canarian tradition.

Children of all ages are welcome; if you bring a baby, we recommend that you use a baby carrier, as the terrain does not allow the use of pushchairs.
Minors must always be accompanied by an adult.
Due to the orography of the agricultural terrain, the activity is not accessible for people in wheelchairs or with severe reduced mobility.

The experience takes place all year round, from Wednesday to Sunday, at 10: 00 am.
The group is small, with a maximum of 12 people, to ensure a close and personal treatment.
The meeting point has a free car park and can be easily reached by minibus from Santa Cruz, which is only 5 minutes away.
In case of dietary preferences it will be necessary to contact the organisers in advance. Vegetarian options are available, but not for coeliacs. You will receive contact details in the confirmation email.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
