Loving animals also means learning how to look after them, and in Aguilar de Segarra there is a place where you can get 100% involved.
For a morning you will accompany the team of a Nature Reserve in their daily routines: you will prepare diets, help in the distribution of food, collaborate in the observation and learn how they work for the welfare of each animal. A practical, educational and exciting experience.
Four hours to be a keeper for a day, discover the conservation work of the Reserve and take away an unforgettable memory. Would you like to be part of the team?
What we will do
The appointment will be 10 minutes before the scheduled time at the Nature Reserve located in Aguilar de Segarra. There we will be met by a member of the team, who will welcome us and explain what the experience consists of. We will briefly get to know the Reserve, what it does and what animals live there. It will be a moment of complete education about the environment and its inhabitants.
Then, we will put ourselves in the shoes of a caretaker of the Reserve together with a specialist wildlife rehabilitation guide. We will prepare the diets, we will help in the distribution of food to all the animals (both herbivores and carnivores) and we will participate in the environmental enrichment to improve the welfare of each species. We will also collaborate in observation and counting tasks, and we can even assist in the infirmary with an ATV or veterinarian if any of the residents require it.
In addition, we will dedicate part of the time to the maintenance of the spaces and to understand how the daily routines of the caretakers are organised. The experience will culminate with the presentation of an accredited diploma, as a reminder of having been part of the team during a very special day.
The activity lasts a total of 4 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for all ages and is a perfect activity to enjoy nature as a family.
Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The nature reserve is not wheelchair accessible.

The activity takes place throughout the year, with availability once a week.
The entrance fee is a donation to the Foundation and goes entirely to the care of the Reserve and its animals.
Admission is free for children from 0 to 3 years old.
Accompanying persons who do not participate in the visit can wait in the reserve's free access areas .
It is not possible to enter the reserve with dogs.
Free parking is available in the vicinity of the nature reserve. It is not possible to reach the reserve by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
