Private 4x4 and snowshoeing tour in the Ordesa Pyrenees

Discover the Ordesa Pyrenees on a private tour that combines the thrill of a 4x4 ride with a snowshoe hike. Explore snow-covered valleys, soak up the tranquillity of the mountains and enjoy an adventure featuring around 3 hours of gentle walking, with stops to rest and take in the snow-covered scenery.

What we will do

Please arrive 10 minutes before the agreed time at the meeting point in Aínsa, Huesca. Your guide will be waiting for you there; they will accompany you throughout the experience and tailor the route to suit your pace and interests. After introductions, you’ll climb into the 4x4 and set off on your adventure towards the heart of the Ordesa Pyrenees.

The exact area will be chosen depending on the weather conditions, as you’ll be visiting places that can only be reached by 4x4, such as the Añisclo sector, the upper Pineta valley or the Viadós and Tabernés valleys in the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park. All offer spectacular panoramic views, with vistas of peaks over 3, 000 metres and glacial valleys that will leave you speechless.

Once you arrive at your chosen spot, you’ll put on your snowshoes and set off walking through forests and across snow-covered slopes. This is a Level 1 route, with no steep gradients, perfect for enjoying the mountains at a leisurely pace and immersing yourself in the beauty of winter.

During the walk, the guide will show you hidden spots and tell you about the geology, history and wildlife of this unique part of the Pyrenees. Each stop will be an opportunity to take in the views, have a laugh and take some souvenir photos. If the group wishes, or conditions allow, you can take a short break to practise building shelters or learn the basics of winter mountaineering.

In total, the experience will last around 5 hours, although the duration may vary slightly depending on the group and weather conditions.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for all ages, but we do not recommend that children under the age of 6 take part ( they can take part in the family-specific experience instead) .

Minors must be used to physical activity and must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Pregnant women may take part at their own risk. They must inform the organisers of their condition in advance. You will receive the organisers’ contact details in the booking confirmation email.

The activity is not accessible to wheelchair users or people with reduced mobility, as it includes sections that require a steady gait.

Other information

The activity is available every day from November to March.

There is free parking at the meeting point. It is also possible to reach the area by bus.

It is important to provide the shoe size and weight of each participant in advance. The snowshoes are adjustable up to size 45.

You must provide the ages of all participants in advance so that the experience can be tailored and the appropriate equipment provided.

If you do not have hiking boots, you can hire them for an additional fee by contacting the tour organiser in advance.

Pets may take part, depending on their breed and size (an additional charge applies) . It is important to contact the organisers in advance to check, depending on the time of year, whether it is possible to bring them along.

A mountain taxi service is available for collection and return from Aínsa. To book this, please contact the organisers directly.

The excursion is conducted in Spanish or English. You must let the organisers know in advance which language you would prefer for the experience.
