If the largest body of water you’ve seen this month has been the puddle at the car wash, your brain urgently needs a change of scenery.
Enjoy a wonderful day out – around three and a half hours – paddling at your own pace on the Alfonso XIII reservoir, situated between Cieza and Calasparra. On this trip in a two-person canoe, you’ll explore the surroundings independently (or you can add a guide if you’d like) , with the option to land on the small islands to rest or have lunch (not included) . A route offering pure nature and zero stress!
What we will do
We’ll meet at the agreed time at the meeting point in Blanca, Murcia. From there, we’ll drive our own cars, following the team’s instructions, on a 15 km road journey to the very shore of the Alfonso XIII reservoir, where the organisers will have all the equipment ready for us to begin our adventure.
We’ll take part in a quick introductory session right on the shore before getting into the water. During this brief session, we’ll learn the basics of paddling a double canoe and the key safety rules so we can coordinate our strokes easily and move through the water with complete confidence.
We’ll set off to explore the reservoir completely independently and at our own pace, as this activity does not include an instructor as standard (although you can request one as an optional extra if you prefer) . We’ll paddle at a leisurely pace, without any stress, through this beautiful natural setting between Cieza and Calasparra, with complete freedom to land on its small inland islands to rest or enjoy our own picnic.
We’ll complete the route by returning to the starting point after a total duration of between three and a half and four hours. This time is divided into around two and a half hours of actual sailing, with the rest spent resting on the islands. Once finished, we’ll head back to the starting point to make use of the changing rooms and hot showers before saying our goodbyes.
Who it is aimed at
This group activity is suitable for everyone. No previous experience is required.
You do not need to be able to swim to take part, as the use of a life jacket is compulsory.
The minimum age to take part is 14. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
The maximum weight limit is 100 kg per participant.
This activity is not suitable for people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility.
Pets are not permitted on the tour.
Other information
The experience is available from Easter onwards. During the summer season, it takes place every day of the week, whilst for the rest of the year it takes place on Saturdays and Sundays.
A minimum of 1 participant is required, and a maximum of over 100 people are allowed per session.
Parking is available at the meeting point . Please note that it is not possible to reach the venue by public transport.
Stops for a bite to eat on the small islands in the reservoir are at your own expense, so you’ll need to bring your own food.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
