Full description
Cycling along the coast has its charm, but knowing that an artisan cheese tasting awaits you at the end of the ride instantly makes it the best ride in the world.
On this 4-hour experience, you’ll cycle through coastal and mountain landscapes from Celorio, make your own fresh cheese at a traditional cheese dairy in Llanes, and round off the day in style with a tasting of goat’s cheeses paired with local produce.
What we will do
We’ll meet 15 minutes before the agreed time in Celorio, Asturias. There , our guide will welcome us, we’ll be given standard bicycles and helmets, and we’ll go over the route before setting off.
We’ll start the day with a cycle ride lasting around 2 hours (up to 3 hours, depending on the group’s fitness level) that combines sea and mountain scenery. We’ll cycle along the coastal path skirting the Cantabrian Sea, riding along gravel tracks and some tarmac sections as we climb and descend the mountain towards the interior until we reach the village of Pie de la Sierra.
There, the host family from the cheese dairy – descendants of cheesemakers from Sotres and Tresviso – will be waiting for us, ready to welcome us into their home with a smile and reveal the secrets of four generations dedicated to the art of cheese-making.
We’ll start in the barn to meet the real stars of the show: the goats. We’ll go over to say hello, scratch them behind the ears and let their friendliness win us over whilst they explain the daily care routine and the tricks of milking to obtain that fresh milk of the highest quality. From there, we’ll head into the heart of the cheese dairy, touring the production and packaging areas, as well as the maturing chamber.
Then it will be time for the hands-on workshop, where we’ll shape our very own fresh goat’s cheese with our own hands… and as every effort is rewarded in the countryside, we’ll round off the day with the much-anticipated tasting session. We’ll sit down to savour their finest goat’s cheeses, paired seasonally with blueberry, apple or walnut jams, and accompanied by sweet or traditional cider.
The experience lasts a total of 4 hours (and up to 5, depending on the cycle route) .
Who it is aimed at
This activity is suitable for anyone who can ride a bike.
Participants of all ages are welcome, provided they are at least 1. 55 m tall (for those shorter than this, it is essential to check availability with the organisers in advance)
Minors must be accompanied or authorised by a responsible adult or guardian.
Pets are not permitted to avoid startling the animals at the cheese dairy.

Important: You will need to confirm the exact meeting point and time with the organisers at least 24 hours in advance.
The experience is available almost all year round (every day of the week at 10. 00 and 16. 00) , except during the break following Epiphany until mid-February.
The minimum group size is 2 people and the maximum is 8.
Parking is available at the departure point in Celorio (free or paid, depending on the time of year) ; we recommend arriving with plenty of time to spare.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
