Full description
Dive into the underwater world with a Basic Diver course in Lanzarote! The perfect experience to satisfy your curiosity and discover what it's like to dive, even without a licence!
You will have access to a theory class and not one, but 2 dives up to 12 metres under the supervision of a qualified instructor ! And when you come out of the water, you'll receive your SSI Basic Diver certification.
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the time selected during the booking at the meeting point in Teguise, Lanzarote. There the instructor will be waiting for us, who will guide us in this first approach to the world of diving.
We will start with a 30 minute theory class on land, where we will learn the basic principles of breathing underwater, the use of the equipment, the hand signals used to communicate during the dive and the fundamental safety precautions.
We will then head to the dive site together with the dive instructors, in Costa Teguise or Puerto del Carmen. Our baptism of the sea will take place directly from the beach, and one by one we will dive to a depth of 5 metres.
Then, after coming out of the water, we will have a break of about 40 minutes, during which the instructor will change our tanks and we will receive a second briefing with useful recommendations to make us feel even more comfortable underwater.
We will then make a second dive, where we will be able to reach a depth of 12 metres and admire angel sharks, stingrays, rays and seahorses up close.
At the end of the activity, we will change directly on the beach and return to the dive centre, where we will receive our SSI Basic Diver digital certification.
Each dive will last between 30 and 50 minutes, depending on how long it takes to use up the air in the tank and how comfortable we feel. The total duration of the experience is approximately 4.5 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 8 and up; children under 18 must have a signed consent form.
You don't need any qualifications or previous experience, but you must be able to swim to take part in the activity.
The experience is not suitable for pregnant women, people with respiratory or cardiac problems, or people with motor disabilities.

The experience takes place all year round.
Free parking is available in the vicinity of the meeting point and it is also accessible by public transport.
Normally, participants change directly on the beach, but there are showers on the school premises. The organisers take care of storing any valuables.
You dive to a maximum depth of 5 metres and dive from the beach. There will be a minimum of 1 instructor for every 2 participants.
It is not possible to participate with your own diving equipment.
It is recommended not to dive within 12 hours before a flight.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is last minute. You get a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours from the activity start. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
