Tradition, gastronomy and nature in the interior of the province of Valencia.
Enjoy a 3 and a half hour experience that combines a cheese-making workshop with a cruise on the Júcar River. Learn how to make fresh goat's cheese, take part in a guided tasting of local wine and finish the day sailing through canyons.
What we will do
We will meet about 10 minutes before the booking time at the meeting point in Los Pedrones, Requena. There we will be welcomed by an expert in goat cheese production who will introduce us to the pastoral culture.
We will start the day with a workshop on how to make fresh pañoleta cheese, the most traditional cheese in the Valencian area. During 45 minutes, we will learn step by step how to work the goat's milk in a traditional way. After the workshop, we will dedicate another 45 minutes to a guided tasting of the most emblematic products of the cheese factory, such as some pieces refined in the cave, paired with a local wine selected for the occasion.
After this immersion in the gastronomy of the area, we will travel to the Cofrentes wharf, located about 20 minutes away. There, we will swap land for water to enjoy a cruise on the river Júcar aboard a modern boat. Accompanied by a specialised guide, we will navigate between the imposing canyons and mountains, while discovering places of singular beauty that are only accessible from the riverbed.
The total duration of the experience is about 3 hours and a half.

The cheese production workshop with tasting will take place in Hoya de la Iglesia, a family cheese factory located in Los Pedrones, in Utiel-Requena, where tradition and nature go hand in hand. It offers artisan products with an authentic flavour from the fresh milk of its goats. All this reflects its commitment to quality, animal welfare, sustainability and rural development.
Pets are not allowed.
Free parking is available at the cheese dairy and in the immediate vicinity of the jetty. It is not possible to reach the area by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
