Are you one of those who always wants to get to the bottom of things?
Then caving is the perfect activity for you. Test your curiosity by exploring the Huelga cave in Cangas de Onís, Asturias. The perfect opportunity to discover the geological secrets surrounding the Picos de Europa National Park.
Get ready to walk through the bowels of the earth for an hour and a half.
What we will do
We will meet at the meeting point in Cangas de Onís about 10 minutes before the booking time. The expert guide who will accompany us on this underground adventure will be waiting for us there.
We will travel together to the area around the cave, a journey of about 15 minutes by car. On arrival, we will be equipped with caving overalls and a helmet with a headlamp, essential elements for moving safely in the darkness. After attending a brief talk about the experience and safety rules, we will begin a 10-minute walk to the entrance of the cave, where we will begin to enjoy the whims of nature.
Then it's time to go deep into the bowels of the earth. We will explore a cave where geology comes alive before our eyes. We will walk among whimsical formations, such as the stalactites and stalagmites that decorate the galleries. .. While the guide explains the origin of the cave and its passages.
To complete the tour of this hidden world, we will descend about 1. 5 metres through a hole in the rock, using a fixed rope, an optional step that adds a touch of adventure to the route.
After approximately 1 hour and a half of exploration, we will come back to the surface. We will conclude with a 5-minute walk to return to the starting point.
The total duration of the experience will be between 2 and 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
It is not necessary to have experience in caving.
The minimum age is 16 years old, although the activity can be adapted to family groups with younger participants.
The experience is not recommended for pregnant women or people with physical injuries.
It is not accessible for people with motor disabilities.
It will be necessary to inform the guide of any type of pathology that may interfere with the normal development of the experience.

The activity is available all year round and is confirmed when a minimum of 2 participants is reached.
Participants may take photos during the activity, respecting the safety rules indicated by the guide.
Free public parking is available in the vicinity of the meeting point . It is also possible to get there by public transport, the bus station of Cangas de Onís is just a few minutes walk from the activity centre.
For accompanying persons not participating there are hiking trails in the surroundings of the cave. They can also stay in the centre of Cangas de Onís.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
