An open door to an underground world full of mystery and beauty.
Get your first taste ofcaving in the Cueva de los Griegos, in the Serranía de Cuenca. During 2 hours you will go through 700 metres of horizontal galleries illuminated only by the light of your headlamp. Stalactites, stalagmites and lava flows stained with manganese and limonite. All guided by an expert guide, who will reveal the secrets of this unique place on the border with Guadalajara .

What we will do
The guide will be waiting for us punctually at the meeting point in Masegosa, Cuenca. We will park next to the road that connects this town in Cuenca with Peralejos de las Truchas, in the province of Guadalajara, and we will get equipped for the adventure .
The mouth of the Cueva de los Griegos awaits us at the edge of a sinkhole, which we will reach after a walk of just 5 minutes. Before entering, the caving guide will give us a brief introductory talk on safety and curiosities about the cave.
We will enter the cave and begin to advance through its 700 metres of horizontal galleries. As we turn on our headlamps, a surprising underground world will reveal itself to us: stalactites and stalagmites, manganese-tinted lava flows and yellowish reflections produced by limonite. We will also see calcite and aragonite crystals, and formations that will make us feel we are in another universe.
We will spend about 2 hours exploring the cave, enjoying a safe route, without water or narrow passages, ideal even for those who have never been caving before. After the visit, we will return to the starting point with another short 5-minute walk back.
The whole activity lasts approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for all ages from 10 years old.
Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
The activity is not suitable for pregnant women or people with reduced mobility.
Other information
The activity can be done all year round and is confirmed when a minimum of 3 participants is reached.
Accompanying persons who do not participate can walk in the area, as there are some walking routes in the surrounding area. Dogs may be kept on a lead.
The guide will take photos, which will be sent to you by phone at the end of the activity.
Free parking is available in the area around the meeting point . It is not possible to reach the area by public transport.
