Marine caving at the Cova de Coloms in Mallorca

Leave the surface of Mallorca behind and get ready to explore a fascinating underground labyrinth.

On this 5-hour adventure, you’ll combine a pleasant coastal walk with open-water swimming and an exploration of the famous Cova de Coloms. You’ll venture into majestic galleries filled with stalactites, stalagmites and frozen freshwater lakes that hold the island’s geological history. A perfect shared experience for intrepid souls, designed to deliver intense thrills in complete safety under the guidance of qualified guides. What we will do

We’ll meet at the agreed time at the meeting point near Cala Estany d’en Mas in Manacor. There, we’ll meet our guide, who will provide us with the necessary safety equipment: a wetsuit, a helmet and a head torch to light the way. After the initial briefing, we’ll set off on a 1. 6-kilometre walk along a coastal path lined with pine trees, rosemary and juniper, enjoying the sea air before diving into the adventure.

We’ll reach the secluded Cala Falcó, and from the rocks, we’ll take the plunge into the water. We’ll then swim for about 250 metres along the sea cliffs until we reach the entrance to the cave. To gain access to the interior, we’ll navigate a small natural siphon that will open the doors to a completely different world, isolated from the outside.

Once inside, we’ll spend between 2 and 3 hours exploring the colossal galleries of the Cova de Coloms, marvelling at the sheer scale of its underground system. We’ll walk amongst majestic limestone columns, stalactites and stalagmites formed over thousands of years by natural seepage. We’ll also skirt crystal-clear freshwater lakes where the more adventurous can take a refreshing dip in a truly unique setting.

After completing our underground exploration, we’ll retrace our steps by swimming back to the cove and following the path home. We’ll round off this incredible marine caving experience with our senses fully awakened after having explored the island’s innermost depths, completing a full itinerary which, including walking, preparations and the technical visit, will take us around 5 hours in total, depending, of course, on the group’s pace.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for everyone; you don’t need any prior knowledge of caving.

The minimum age to take part is 10 years ( minors must always be accompanied by an adult and provide a signed authorisation form) .

You must be able to swim, as access to the cave is via the open sea.

The underground canyon features very spacious passages, so it is not claustrophobic for those who are afraid of enclosed spaces. There is only one narrow section, less than a metre wide, which is easily navigated with a guide.

For safety reasons and to ensure insurance cover, pregnant women are not permitted to take part.

If you have reduced mobility, you must check in advance to confirm that the tour is feasible.

The experience is available from Monday to Friday at 9. 00 am.

The tour is confirmed with a minimum of 2 people (maximum 10 participants per group) .

Free parking is available at the meeting point.

We do not recommend travelling by public transport, but you can arrange a pick-up service at an extra cost if you do not have your own vehicle. Details on how to arrange this will be sent to you in your booking confirmation email.

As this is a wild natural environment, there are no changing rooms, showers or lockers for valuables (we advise you to arrive already wearing your swimwear) .

Pets are not permitted on this experience.
