Full description

Forget the traditional tourist routes and become a true explorer of Mallorca’s underground world.

On this 5-hour expedition, you’ll explore the stunning Cala Falcó and Cala Varques caves. You’ll discover the untamed coastline of Manacor, walk alongside the Mediterranean, swim towards the mouth of the cave and cross small underwater siphons to discover colossal underground chambers filled with stalactite-covered ceilings , mineral columns and freshwater lakes. A shared adventure brimming with pure energy, guided from start to finish by experts to ensure your complete safety. The heart of the earth is waiting for you!

What we will do

We’ll meet at the agreed time at the meeting point near Cala Estany d’en Mas in Manacor. There , we’ll meet our guide, who will welcome us and kit us out with the necessary climbing and safety equipment: a wetsuit, helmet and head torch. Once ready, we’ll set off on a 30-minute hike along the Mediterranean cliffs, taking in the scenery of typical garrigue vegetation, including rosemary and pine trees.

We’ll arrive at the small, unspoilt Cala Falcó, the perfect spot to adjust our wetsuits and prepare for the water. From the rocks, we’ll jump into the water and swim about 200 metres along the coast, skirting the rugged shoreline until we reach the imposing mouth of the cave. Upon entering, we’ll switch on our headlamps to pierce the darkness and venture fully into a low, water-filled passage, where we’ll have to get completely wet or navigate small water siphons to continue forward.

The effort will be well worth it when we reach the enormous interior chambers of this horizontally extending cave. For around 2 or 3 hours underground, we’ll explore fascinating chambers filled with ancient formations such as immense columns, ceilings studded with stalactites, stalagmites and delicate mineral ‘streamers’. We’ll also skirt around underground lakes of cold, fresh water – a true spectacle for the senses where we’ll feel like real pioneers.

After uncovering the secrets of these underwater systems, we’ll set off on our return journey. We’ll retrace our steps by swimming back to the cove and completing the walk along the path to the car park. We’ll conclude this incredible marine caving expedition after a total of 5 hours of activity, returning to the starting point with our minds full of memories and the energy that comes from having mastered Mallorca’s underground world.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for everyone; you don’t need any prior knowledge of caving.

The minimum age to take part is 10 years ( minors must always be accompanied by an adult and provide a signed authorisation form) .

You must be able to swim, as access to the cave is via the open sea.

The underground canyon features very spacious passages, so it is not claustrophobic for those who are afraid of enclosed spaces. There is only one narrow section, less than a metre wide, which is easily navigated with a guide.

For safety reasons and to ensure insurance cover, pregnant women are not permitted to take part.

If you have reduced mobility, you must check in advance to confirm that the tour is feasible.
