If routine has you sailing in a sea of obligations, the time has come to change boats.
Climb aboard a catamaran in Isla Canela and let yourself be guided to discover the richness of the Lower Guadiana in a totally active and exciting way. Enjoy a flexible itinerary, sailing from 2 to 8 hours depending on the option booked, going along the virgin beaches of the mouth of the river or ascending the river in front of historic fortresses. The instructor will adapt the route to the wind to ensure you have an incredible day, and even enjoy a gastronomic stop in Portugal if you choose the option with lunch.
What we will do
You will arrive at the meeting point at Isla Canela in Huelva about 10 minutes before the start of the adventure. There you will be welcomed by the instructors and equipped with life jackets and wetsuits. Before boarding the catamaran you will receive a brief talk where they will explain the basic operation of sailing and safety rules.
Once in the water, you will start sailing in a totally private environment where the course will depend on your choice of hours and the sea conditions. The guide on board will propose different alternatives to suit your tastes. If you choose the ascent of the Guadiana, you will sail through calm waters discovering the naval history of the region, the protected marshlands, Ayamonte and the Portuguese village of Castro Marim with its imposing fortresses in the background.
Should you prefer to explore Portugal' s coastline, you will head westwards, losing the influence of the river to enjoy the crystal clear waters and white sands at Monte Gordo, Altura or Tavira, stopping for a swim if the weather is fine. On the other hand, if you book the 11am route, you will dock at the cove of Ponta da Areia to enjoy a traditional Portuguese lunch at a beach bar facing the river before continuing your journey.
Finally, you will take advantage of the wind to make an exciting return trip to the coast of Huelva. You will return to the beach after completing an unforgettable route that you can choose from 2 to 8 hours, saying goodbye to the instructor with the fantastic sensation of having enjoyed an exclusive and flexible nautical day adapted to your preferences.
Who it is aimed at
This trip is suitable for everyone. No previous experience or minimum age is required to participate.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Children up to 5 years old travel free of charge and only need to reserve their place on the catamaran in advance.
It is not necessary to know how to swim as the use of a life jacket is compulsory.
Pregnant women are welcome to join the trip.
The activity is adapted for people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility and we recommend that you call in advance to coordinate boarding.
Other information
Departures operate from Easter to mid-September with daily schedules available from 10am to 6pm.
The gastronomic route takes place at a specific timetable, departing at 11am and arriving in Portugal at lunchtime. Drinks are not included in the price and lunch must be paid for separately at the restaurant.
The experience admits a maximum of 4 people per boat.
The organisers' fleet consists of 5 catamarans.
Free parking is available nearby. It is also possible to reach the meeting point by public transport.
Pets are allowed on board the catamaran as long as the animal can be left alone and advance notice is given.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 15 days from the activity start date. Within 14 and 8 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
