Full description
Are you ready to climb three waterfalls, whizz down a zip line and immerse yourself in a real Galician jungle?
In San Andrés de Teixido, an exciting canyoning adventure awaits you, lasting between 3 and 4 hours in total. You’ll climb vertical waterfalls, glide along zip lines set amongst the trees and tackle simple abseils on a route that’ s perfect for beginners, led by qualified guides – photos included.
What we will do
We’ll meet at the agreed time at the meeting point at Alto de Moimenta, very close to San Andrés de Teixido in Galicia. There we’ll meet our guides, who’ll welcome us and explain how the equipment works during a technical briefing on the use of the energy absorber, harnesses and safety procedures.
From the meeting point, we’ll take a short walk to the base of the first waterfall. It’s time for the action to begin! We’ll put on our helmets, harnesses and life jackets to tackle the first vertical section, a 20-metre drop, climbing right next to the water. We’ll continue along a path above the riverbed until we reach a thrilling 25-metre zip line that will carry us flying to the base of the next 15-metre section.
From this point, we’ll learn the basic techniques for vertical progression to tackle two simple abseils of 15 and 10 metres. We’ll glide along a final zip line that will take us back to where we started the ascent and, for those looking for an extra adrenaline rush, there’ll be the chance to take a fun optional jump into the final pool.
After the final dip, we’ll walk back to the starting point to take off our gear. This brings to a close a day which, including preparations, technical training and the route itself, will take between 3 and 4 hours in total.
