The Gorgol canyon, in the Tena Valley, is an intense and exciting adventure between rock walls sculpted by water. A perfect experience to get started in canyoning without giving up the fun.
With the help of a guide and surrounded by nature, you will enjoy a refreshing descent, accessible and full of surprises in Piedrafita de Jaca.
What we will do
We will have to arrive punctually at the meeting point in Canfranc-Estación, from where we will follow the guide in our private car to Piedrafita de Jaca, in the heart of the Tena Valley.
We will park at the end of the Gorgol ravine, where the guide will give us the technical equipment and help us to get ready. From there, a walk of about 20 minutes (approximately 1. 5 km) will take us to the start of the route.
Before entering the canyon, the guide will give a brief briefing to explain the safety rules, how to progress through the canyon and how the abseiling will be done, and the adventure begins! The Gorgol is a short but very dynamic canyon, ideal as a first contact with canyoning. Non-compulsory jumps, natural slides and ledges will follow one after the other between walls sculpted by the water until you reach the highlight: a spectacular 18-metre abseil.
The whole route is accompanied by a qualified guide, with enough time to enjoy and feel the thrill of canyoning in a safe environment. At the end, we will leave directly next to the car park, with no need to walk back.
The total duration of the experience is approximately 4 and a half hours, of which we will spend about 2 and a half hours descending the canyon .
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable as a first experience of canyoning and can be done from the age of 8 years old.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
It is advisable to know how to swim.
Not recommended for pregnant women.
It is not an accessible activity for people with motor disabilities.
Other information
The activity takes place from May to September. It is confirmed with a minimum number of 2 participants.
You will not have changing rooms or a place to leave personal belongings, which you will have to leave in your car (the guide can keep the key) .
Non-participating companions may walk around the valley or wait in the parking area near the end of the ravine. Dogs may be kept on a lead.
If you want a souvenir of the experience you can hire a photo and video service with the guide (extra cost) , by contacting him in advance. You will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.
Free parking is available both around the meeting point and in the canyon area. It is not possible to travel by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is moderate. You get a full refund if you cancel within 8 days from the activity start date. Within 7 and 5 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
