Full description
Immerse yourself in the heart of the Mijares River and discover water canyoning at its best, descending the famous Chillapájaros Straits in Montanejos.
You will cross streams, slide down natural slides and make optional jumps into crystal clear water pools, surrounded by imposing walls of more than 100 metres, all in a wild environment of great beauty!
Always accompanied by qualified guides, you will live a 4.5 hour adventure full of adrenaline and nature.
What we will do
We’ll meet at the agreed time in Montanejos, in the province of Castellón, where the guides will welcome us and provide us with all the necessary equipment.
We’ll have an initial logistical briefing lasting about 5 minutes, during which the details of the activity, the equipment and the safety rules will be explained. Afterwards, we’ll spend about 30 minutes preparing and fitting the equipment. Once ready, we’ll board the organisers’ vans for a short 7-minute journey to the start of the route.
Before entering the water, we’ll have a technical briefing lasting about 10 minutes on canyoning techniques and how to tackle each obstacle safely.
We’ll begin the descent beneath the impressive jet of water from the Arenoso spillway, sliding down a rapid-slide that will mark the start of our adventure. Throughout the route, we’ll swim through the currents of the River Mijares, slide down natural water slides and take optional jumps into pools of crystal-clear water. The more daring among us can explore a cave with a siphon (an underwater section that is not compulsory) .
We’ll spend the final part of the route floating as we cross the narrows, surrounded by spectacular cliffs over 100 metres high, where we may even spot climbers in action.
At the end, the organisers’ minibuses will collect us and take us back to base to get changed and round off the experience. The activity will last a total of 4. 5 hours, including the briefing, preparation, transfers and the river descent. The maximum elevation drop is 60 metres.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for children aged 12 and over; minors must be accompanied by an adult or present a signed authorisation .
It is compulsory to know how to swim and it is advisable to have previous experience in aquatic activities.
Pregnant women, people with incompatible illnesses or allergies to neopreneare not allowed to participate .
Other information
The activity is available from April to October and is confirmed with a minimum of 4 participants.
The facilities include a beach bar, changing rooms with outdoor showers and a locker for personal belongings.
Accompanying persons who do not participate can wait on the premises, where dogs on leads are also allowed.
The meeting point is not accessible by public transport, but there is free parking.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
