Full description
Immerse yourself in the heart of the Mijares River and discover water canyoning at its best, descending the famous Chillapájaros Straits in Montanejos.
You will cross streams, slide down natural slides and make optional jumps into crystal clear water pools, surrounded by imposing walls of more than 100 metres, all in a wild environment of great beauty!
Always accompanied by qualified guides, you will live a 4.5 hour adventure full of adrenaline and nature.
What we will do
We will meet at the indicated time in Montanejos, in the province of Castellón, where the guides will welcome us and give us the complete equipment.
We will have a first logistic briefing of about 5 minutes, where we will explain the details of the activity, the material and the safety rules. Afterwards, we will spend about 30 minutes preparing and setting up the equipment. Once ready, we will get into the organisation's vans for a short 7-minute drive to the start of the course.
Before entering the water, we will receive a 10 minute technical briefing on water canyoning progression techniques and how to tackle each obstacle safely.
We will start the descent under the impressive jet of the Arenoso spillway, sliding down a rapid-slide that will mark the beginning of our adventure. Along the way, we will swim along the currents of the Mijares river, slide down natural slides and do optional jumps into crystal clear pools. The more daring will be able to explore a cavity with a siphon (submerged passage is not compulsory).
The final part of the route will be done floating while crossing the strait, surrounded by spectacular walls of more than 100 metres high, where we will even be able to see climbers in action.
At the end, the organisation's vans will pick us up and take us back to the base to change and finish the experience. The activity will last a total of 4.5 hours, including briefing, preparation, travel and descent into the river. The maximum height difference is 60 metres.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for children aged 12 and over; minors must be accompanied by an adult or present a signed authorisation .
It is compulsory to know how to swim and it is advisable to have previous experience in aquatic activities.
Pregnant women, people with incompatible illnesses or allergies to neopreneare not allowed to participate .
Other information
The activity is available from April to October and is confirmed with a minimum of 4 participants.
The facilities include a beach bar, changing rooms with outdoor showers and a locker for personal belongings.
Accompanying persons who do not participate can wait on the premises, where dogs on leads are also allowed.
The meeting point is not accessible by public transport, but there is free parking.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
