Can you imagine a weekend experiencing what others only see in documentaries?
In this private brown bear watching experience you will spend the weekend walking around Somiedo with expert guides, sighting stops at key points and enjoying quiet routes, wild nature and all-inclusive rural accommodation.
What we will do
You will be welcomed on Friday afternoon at your rural accommodation in Somiedo (check-in from 15: 00 h) . There you will meet the guide and review together the plan for the weekend before settling in and enjoying the first typical dinner of the area.
During Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday morning you will live a totally private wildlife watching experience, designed just for your group. You will make several sighting stops in different strategic points of the Natural Park of Somiedo, one of the best places in Europe to see the Cantabrian brown bear. Equipped with binoculars and telescopes, you will be accompanied on quiet waits, during which you will learn to interpret the landscape and detect movements among the beech forests and slopes where the bear usually feeds or moves.
During this time you will walk along some of the most outstanding routes in the park, always at a leisurely pace. Although the bear is the protagonist of the weekend, it will not be the only one: with luck you will also be able to observe chamois, roe deer, deer, wild cats, wild boar, birds of prey. .. and even the Iberian wolf, if nature decides to surprise us. All safely and always respecting the natural environment.
All weekend meals - breakfasts, lunches and dinners - will be enjoyed in the rural accommodation, with local gastronomy and friendly service. You will be able to rest between activities, review photographs or simply relax in the middle of nature.
On Sunday at midday, after the last observation outing, you will return to the accommodation to collect your luggage and conclude an exclusive weekend fully connected with nature, dedicated to learning about the Cantabrian fauna and experiencing the thrill of observing the brown bear in the wild.

This experience is designed for all nature and photography lovers, from beginners to advanced photographers . It is perfect for those who are looking for comfort, proximity to the guide and a totally personalised experience.
It is ideal for couples, families with children from 8 years old, or groups of friends.
Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The activity is not suitable for people with reduced mobility and wheelchair users.

The experience starts on Friday afternoon and ends on Sunday at noon.
Check-in is from 15: 00 h and check-out is at 11: 00 h. The meeting with the guide at the hotel will be at 16: 00.
The hotel will be assigned according to availability in Somiedo. The organisers will send you all the detailed information about the activity, the accommodation and the meeting point after booking.
Pets and special cases: check availability according to accommodation and type of route.
The activity depends on nature: brown bear watching is not completely guaranteed, although Somiedo is one of the best places to see them.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is very strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 31 days from the activity start date. Within 30 and 15 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
