Need to press the pausebutton ? This excursion to the Illa de Rúa will allow you to breathe in all the peace of the Rías Baixas.
It will welcome you with its almost mystical appearance, surprising you with the whimsical shapes of the large granite rocks that form it. It is the perfect destination for a short excursion in a solitary, wild and impressive landscape. Climbing up to its lighthouse will allow you to see the Ría de Arousa from a unique perspective.

What we will do
The appointment will be at the meeting point, next to the beach of Espiñeiro de la Illa de Arousa, 15 minutes before the booked departure. There we will be met by the skipper who will accompany us to the Illa da Rúa.
Once on board, we will receive a quick explanation of the safety rules and then we will set sail. The crossing will be short and pleasant, 15 or 20 minutes will be enough, with privileged views of the estuary. Once on the islet, we can stroll among the granite blocks, watch seabirds and go up to the lighthouse, built in 1864 and twinned with the Ons lighthouse, from where there is a spectacular panoramic view. It is an inhospitable and silent place, perfect for a total disconnection.
A curiosity? Sailing from the Illa de Arousa to the Illa de Rúa we change province. Yes, because Rúa is part of the municipality of Ribeira, in the province of A Coruña. We will spend as much time as we want exploring the island, observing its flora and fauna or even relaxing with a swim in its limpid waters.
At the time agreed with the skipper, we will embark to return to Illa de Arousa .
The round trip will last about 20 minutes each way.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for all ages.
Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The boat is not adapted, so it is not possible to board in a wheelchair and access for people with motor disabilities is limited. If you need assistance to board the boat, you will need to contact the skipper beforehand. You will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.
Other information
The excursion to the island of Rua is available from Easter to October.
It is not possible to access the island with pets.
The return time can be arranged with the skipper on the day of the activity.
You will sail aboard a glider like the one used by the local sailors. It is 5. 60 metres long and has an 80 hp engine. The boat has no seats.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
