Did you know that some birds only stop here for a few hours before continuing on to Africa or the Arctic?
In this 4-hour experience you will travel around the Villaviciosa estuary visiting different observation points and observatories, discovering wintering, migratory and marine birds in one of the most important wetlands in the north. A quiet morning, and perfect to understand why thousands of birds choose this estuary as their hotel and restaurant.
What we will do
We will meet 10 minutes before the agreed time at the meeting point in Villaviciosa, where we will start our route through one of the most important wetlands in the north of Spain. The Villaviciosa estuary is a real refuge for wintering, migratory and marine birds looking for a quiet place to rest, feed or take shelter from storms.
During the experience we will visit different observation points, making small stops and quiet walks in areas close to the waterlogged areas. From these places we will have the opportunity to see water birds, small birds and, if we are lucky, some birds of prey that fly over the estuary in search of food.
We will also spend time in one of the covered observatories, perfect for days when it is lightly raining or windy. There we will only have to look through the telescopes and binoculars provided to enjoy the species that use the estuary as a wintering or resting place during their migration.
Throughout the tour we will learn to identify birds, understand their behaviour and discover why the estuary is so important for their survival. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or already experienced: the guide will adapt the experience to the level of the group so that everyone enjoys it equally.
After about 4 hours of observation, landscapes and nature, we will finish the route returning to Villaviciosa.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone with no age limit.
Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Not recommended for wheelchair users or people with reduced mobility due to the type of terrain.
Children under 1. 35m must bring their own restraint system (car seat) or advise in advance so that a booster seat can be provided. You will find our contact details in your booking confirmation email.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
