Do you want to learn to master the waves of the Cantabrian Sea?
In this surf class on the beaches of Castrillón, Asturias, you will learn how to move freely among the waves. From the first session, you will work on paddling, take-off, balance and basic movements on the board. You will also learn to read the sea, to recognise a good wave... and to enjoy yourself when you catch it.
Personalised attention and a small group, everything is designed to help you get started safely and have a great time. The strength of the north does the rest.
What we will do
The meeting point is in Naveces, Castrillón, 15 minutes before the booking time. There we will be met by our instructor with the equipment ready, after a brief presentation, we will get into the van that will take us to the beach, selected for the class depending on the conditions of the day.
As soon as we arrive at the beach, the instructor will hand out the necessary equipment and start with abrief briefing on technique, safety and the basics of surfing. It's time to get to know the board, warm up a bit and familiarise ourselves with how to read the sea.
Then it's into the water! Once in the water, we will work on paddling, the take-off to stand up correctly on the board, balance and the first few skis. Always accompanied by the instructor and with a small group because the attention will be personalised.
We will leave the water tired, but full of energy after an intense 1 hour and a half lesson. We will return by van to the meeting point. The activity will last a total of 2 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable as a first experience of surfing and can be taken part from the age of 8 years old.
Minors can participate with an authorisation.
It is compulsory to know how to swim.
The activity is not suitable for pregnant women.
The instructors are trained to give inclusive surf lessons for people with disabilities. If you would like to receive more information about this possibility, please contact the surf school, you will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.
Other information
Lessons take place all year round and are confirmed with a minimum of 3 participants.
The beach will be chosen by the instructor depending on the weather and sea conditions.
Groups are usually divided into age groups to facilitate learning. Mixed classes for families are available on request.
Accompanying persons who do not participate in the class may attend the class, but they will have to travel to the beach at their own expense.
At the surf school facilities, at the meeting point, there are changing rooms and showers with hot water.
There is free parking at the meeting point, but it is not possible to get there by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
