Surfing initiation group class in Lanzarote

If you've never tried surfing before, this is the perfect excuse to jump into the water and have a great time.

This beginners' group class on the incredible Famara beach, in Lanzarote, is the perfect plan to get you started in surfing with good vibes and in good company. You'll learn the basics according to your level, you'll team up with other brave people like you and you'll jump into the water with the desire to eat every wave.

You can choose between a 2 or 4 hour session, so you won't get off the board. What's for sure: you'll come out with saltpetre on your skin and a smile from ear to ear.

What we will do

We will meet 15 minutes before the agreed time at the meeting point in Caleta de Famara, a wild and spectacular beach on the north coast of Lanzarote. There we will check in and the instructor will give us our wetsuits. Then we will go together to the beach. It will be a short trip, no more than 10 minutes, where we will feel the wind, smell the sea and warm up our engines.

Once on the sand, we' ll be given our boards, we'll do a quick warm-up (yes, you have to stretch), and they 'll explain how the sea is that day: what kind of waves there are, where to get in and how to move in the water without any problems. We will also learn how to do the famous pop-up (standup on the board), how to balance, how to paddle and even how to read the waves. We will be on the beach for 2 or 4 hours, depending on the option we choose. In the 4 hour option, there will be a 30 minute break to rest, have a snack or just relax for a while, so the session will be divided into two parts.

And when we are more or less clear about everything, let's get into the water! There we will try out what we have learnt, each one at their own pace and with attentive monitors who will be correcting and encouraging us at all times. We are going to fall, for sure. But we will also get up, shout with joy and look at the shore with a face like: "Did I do that?

The class will last 2 or 4 hours and the activity will have a total duration of 2 and a half or 5 hours, depending on the option chosen during the booking.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for children aged 10 and over. Minors must be accompanied by an adult to fill in the initial form.

Between 10 and 14 years of age, if the child cannot bring their own board, they must be accompanied by an adult.

Not recommended for pregnant women, people with reduced mobility or serious back or hip injuries. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

It is necessary to know how to swim.

No previous experience is required.

Other information

The activity can be done every day of the year.

Groups are limited to a maximum of 8 people per instructor.

There are changing rooms at the meeting point, but there are no showers or lockers.

Personal belongings can be left at the meeting point, in the private vehicle or in a shared container managed by the organisers on the beach.

Free parking is available in the vicinity of the meeting point and the area can also be reached by public transport.

Accompanying persons not participating in the class can stay on the beach as spectators.

Dogs are not allowed during the experience.
