Full description
Keep your balance, you won't want to miss a second of the spectacular scenery of the Asturian coast.
In this beginner's paddle surfing class on the beaches of Castrillón you will learn how to handle the board, perfect your paddling and move confidently on the water. We will cover approximately 1 km and, if the conditions allow it, we will make a special stop at the island of La Ladrona for a swim in the middle of nature.
The personalised attention and small groups mean that you can get started safely and enjoy yourself at your own pace. The Bay of Biscay at your feet.
What we will do
The meeting point is in Naveces, Castrillón, 15 minutes before the booking time. There we will be met by our instructor with the equipment ready, after a brief presentation, we will get into the van that will take us to the beach, selected for the class depending on the conditions of the day.
After arriving at the beach, we will hand out the equipment and do a brief briefing on technique, safety and the basics of SUP. It will be time to get to know the board, warm up and practice some tricks to keep your balance.
During the tour, we will work on paddling technique, directional control and posture on the board, always with the support of the instructor. We will enjoy the views while we do a route of approximately 1 km, we will refresh ourselves with a swim in the island of La Ladrona and we will breathe freedom as we glide over the Cantabrian waters.
We will leave the water after an intense 1 hour and a half lesson. We will return by van to the meeting point. The activity will last a total of 2 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable as a first experience of paddle surfing and can be taken part from the age of 8 years old.
Minors can participate with an authorisation.
It is compulsory to know how to swim.
The activity is not suitable for pregnant women.
The instructors are trained to give inclusive surfing lessons for people with disabilities. If you would like to receive more information about this possibility, please contact the surf school, you will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.
Other information
Lessons take place all year round and are confirmed with a minimum of 3 participants.
The beach will be chosen by the instructor depending on the weather and sea conditions.
Groups are usually divided into age groups to facilitate learning. Mixed classes for families are available on request.
Accompanying persons who do not participate in the class may attend the class, but they will have to travel to the beach at their own expense.
Changing rooms and showers with hot water are available at the surf school facilities at the meeting point.
It is possible to request an extra photography service, at a cost of 20 euros. This option will be contracted directly with the instructor.
There is free parking at the meeting point, but it is not possible to get there by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
