Full description
If someone lays 2, 000 eggs a day, has five eyes and communicates by dancing, they deserve our attention, don't they? This is not science fiction: this is the world of bees.
Discover beekeeping from the inside with a complete experience that includes a visit to the apiary, extraction room and honey tasting in Prioro, for about 4 hours. An authentic plan to learn, observe and savour beekeeping in its purest form.
What we will do
We will meet punctually at the agreed time at the entrance to the village of Prioro, where our guide will meet us and this complete beekeeping experience will begin. From there he will accompany us to the parking area and we will walk along a simple path that will take us to the apiary, while we begin to get into context and discover the first curiosities about the world of bees.
Once in the natural environment, we will be given our beekeeper suits and gloves. With everything ready, we will approach the beehives to enter one of the most organised systems in nature. We will open the hives to observe the brood, locate the queen and see live how the workers and drones work, while the guide explains how the hive is organised, what function each bee fulfils and why nothing is left to chance here.
We will then move on to the extraction room, where we will learn all about the process of obtaining honey. Depending on the time of year, we will discover how the product changes and what characteristics each honey has, from the clearest in spring to those of the high mountains, understanding how the environment and flowering influence its flavour and aroma.
To close the experience, we will enjoy a guided tasting of seasonal honeys and we will have time to discuss what we have learnt, ask questions and, if we feel like it, buy products from the apiary such as honey, pollen, propolis, wax or sweets.
In total, it will be an experience of approximately 4 hours, designed to learn calmly, observe closely and experience beekeeping in a complete, authentic and very connected with nature way.
