Diving baptism in the Benidorm Island

Have you always thought that the only way to "dive" in Benidorm was with sun loungers, sangria and laughter in the background? Well no, there's a whole world underwater waiting for you. If you've never tried breathing with a regulator or wiggling fins like a curious fish, it's time to step out of your comfort zone (but in style).

During this diving baptism in Benidorm, just a few minutes from the coast and accompanied by a certified instructor, you will experience your first underwater d ive in complete safety, without the need for a licence. In about 2 and a half hours, you'll discover what it's like to float among the fish, exploring the shallows in one of the Costa Blanca's liveliest destinations. No one will ask you to become the new Jacques Cousteau, but you may be surprised how much you'll want to do it again.

What we will do

The appointment is 10 minutes before the indicated time at the meeting point in Benidorm (Alicante). The instructor will be waiting for you there and will accompany you step by step during the whole experience. We will start with a theoretical talk of about 20 minutes, where he will explain the basic concepts for safe diving, together with the use of the equipment.

We will then move on to fitting the equipment: you will be provided with everything you need, from your wetsuit to your regulator. Once ready, we'll walk to the boat moored just a few metres from the centre, with no need for transfers by car or van.

We will board a 6-metre inflatable boat, equipped with a 200 horsepower engine, and after about 20 minutes of sailing we will arrive at the island of Benidorm, a protected area rich in biodiversity.

There we will start our guided dive, which will last approximately 35 minutes. The clear water and shallow depth (maximum 6 metres) will make it easy to spot rays, octopus, schools of colourful fish and barracudas.

At the end of the trip we will return by boat to the starting point. The total duration of the experience is about 2-2,5 hours.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is recommended for children aged 10 and over. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult, who may remain on board even if not participating in the dive.

It is not necessary to know how to swim to participate, but it is necessary to have a good command of the water.

The activity is forbidden to pregnant women, people with heart problems, recent surgeries, hearing problems or serious illnesses. Before diving, you will be asked to complete a liability form.

The experience is ideal for first time divers: no licence is required and you will always be accompanied by an instructor, with a maximum of 2 participants per guide.

Other information

The experience runs from February to November.

Paid parking is available on site , just a 3-minute walk away. The meeting point is accessible by public transport.

At the dive centre you will find changing rooms with showers, toilets and lockers to store your personal belongings.

Accompanying persons can wait in the dive centre or board the boat (extra charge). Dogs are allowed, as long as they are kept on a leash.

Diving is not recommended in the 24 hours prior to a flight.
