Ready to try abseiling for the first time? Be careful, it's hard not to get hooked.
The Basender dry canyon, in the Sierra de Guara, is the perfect place to start abseiling or to perfect your technique. Without the frenetic pace of a water canyon, you will be able to focus on the manoeuvres while you explore an extremely attractive environment, illuminated by magical light effects.

What we will do
The appointment will be at the meeting point near the Vero River, 10 minutes before the booking time. Our guide will be waiting for us there to give us the approved equipment and give us thefirst indications about the activity . We will receive a canyoning backpack to comfortably carry the material during the approach and, in a few minutes, we will be ready to start the hike.
The access path to the Basender canyon lasts approximately 30 minutes. We will enter the ravine through its most open part, and after negotiating some shallow puddles, we will enter animpressive limestone fissure moulded by water millions of years ago.
From there, the fun is guaranteed! There will be different abseils all along the route: the descent includes several technical sections, withthe highest abseil being 14 metres. But not to worry, this is the perfect opportunity to lose your fear of canyoning. The dry, controlled environment is ideal for improving your technique without the pressure of the water.
As we descend, the light will filter through the walls, creating a spectacular, almost magical atmosphere, allowing us to enjoy 100% of the landscape.
The canyon ends with a beautiful final abseil that leaves us next to the riverside forest of the river Vero. From there, there is only a 15-minute walk along the river to return to the car park. If the weather is good, we can also take a swim in its waters.
The activity will last approximately 3 hours, of which 2 hours will be spent inside the canyon.
Who it is aimed at
The activity does not require canyoning experience and is suitable for ages 7 to 65.
Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The experience is not suitable for pregnant women, people with severe vertigo or motor disabilities. It will be necessary to inform the guide in advance of any other injuries or medical problems. You will receive contact details in the booking confirmation email.
Other information
The activity is available from mid-September to mid-June and is confirmed if a minimum group of 3 people is reached.
Before the day of the activity you will have to provide the guide with the following information: name, age, weight and height. You will receive the contact details in the booking confirmation email.
Please note that you will be in the middle of nature and there is no area to change or leave personal belongings.
It is not advisable to carry mobile phones or other electronic devices during the activity. The guide will take photos of the experience to share with all participants.
Accompanying persons who are not taking part in the activity can wait for a walk in the area.
Free parking is available at the meeting point . The area cannot be reached by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is moderate. You get a full refund if you cancel within 8 days from the activity start date. Within 7 and 5 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
