Full description

If you want to feel the adrenaline of climbing a granite ridge with the best views of Cáceres and Salamanca, this is the via ferrata for you.

In this 3-hour adventure at an altitude of 1, 700 metres, the Sierra de Béjar will be your stage. You will overcome Tibetan bridges and an exciting 20-metre abseil on a K2 level route, suitable for beginners and designed to enjoy the void in complete safety. It is the perfect high altitude baptism to conquer the granite with expert guides.

What we will do

We will meet at the agreed time at the meeting point in Ciudad Rodrigo, Salamanca, to start the adventure. After introductions, we will dedicate the first 15 minutes to a technical briefing where we will equip ourselves with harness, helmet and dissipator. We will learn the basic notions about the material and the keys to safety in order to move freely on the wall, making sure that we all feel comfortable before moving (15 minutes) to the base of the Cancho de la Muela in La Garganta.

We will start the activity at the first granite rock ledge, facing a K1 level , ideal for warming up and familiarising ourselves with rock progression. The fresh air of the Sierra de Béjar will accompany us as we gain height and marvel at the views of the Navamuño reservoir. Before moving on to the main course, we will test our mettle by abseiling 20 metres, an exciting experience that will give us the necessary confidence to master the most aerial section of the day.

Once we have passed the abseil, we will enter level K2, crossing the spectacular edge that gives its name to the route. We will progress along an itinerary on firm rock, overcoming steps and bridges (including a Tibetan bridge) that will make us feel the real sensation of freedom under our feet. With a difference in altitude of 70 metres, each step will give us a different postcard: from the Circo de Hoya Moros to the east to the Ambroz Valley to the south.

Throughout the whole route, our guides will accompany us to ensure safety and share details about this unique environment. We will finish this 3-hour experience with the satisfaction of having conquered the Cancho de la Muela ridge and having overcome an unforgettable challenge in the Sierra de Béjar.
