Full description
Who said summer is just for lounging on a towel? If you’re looking for a real adrenaline rush, get ready to take on the most exhilarating white water in the north.
Enjoy an exciting rafting trip lasting up to 4 hours in total on a thrilling 9 km stretch (Grade III) of the River Ebro, setting off from Arroyo in Cantabria. Accompanied by a guide, you’ll tackle technical rapids in water at 22°C, and the trip includes photos, a video and a picnic at the end. An absolutely brilliant day out, ideal for ages 6 and up!
What we will do
We’ll arrive at the meeting point in Arroyo, Cantabria, 15 minutes early, ready to get started with the preparations. At the base, we’ll meet the team, who will welcome us and kit us out with all the necessary technical equipment. Before heading out onto the water, our guide will give us a brief training session to teach us coordinated paddling techniques and essential safety rules. Once we’ve learnt the ropes, we’ll board a van for the transfer to the starting point.
We’ll launch ourselves into the white water of the River Ebro to complete the stretch between Montesclaros and Aldea de Ebro, famous for guaranteeing excellent flow throughout the summer thanks to controlled releases from the reservoir. We’ll paddle in shared boats of 6 to 8 people, joining forces to tackle technical gradients and legendary river sections such as El Molino, El Gol, El Ascensor, La Lupera, Las Vías and El Tren. It won’t all be about racing against the clock; interspersed amongst the rapids, we’ll find large pools of calm water where we’ll take the chance to relax, let ourselves drift and swim comfortably in water reaching 22°C.
We’ll finish the descent after around 2 hours of pure fun on the water, where the van will pick us up to take us back to base. Once back at the facilities, we’ll enjoy a refreshing hot shower. To round off the shared experience in style, we’ll recharge our batteries with a picnic of apples, water and hot chocolate whilst discussing the day’s highlights, bringing a day lasting between three and a half and four hours in total to a close .
