If you thought that glacial lakes only existed in postcards, wait until you see the Ibón de Plan in person.
Get into a 4x4 on your way to the Cotiella massif, climb up to 1, 910 metres and enjoy a guided walk through forests, pastures and alpine meadows before reaching this crystal-clear lake.
A 4-hour private experience that combines adventure, nature and the calm of one of the most magical corners of the Aragonese Pyrenees.
What we will do
You will meet 10 minutes before the agreed time at the meeting point, where you will be met by your guide and the 4x4 with which the adventure will begin. After a brief introduction and preparation, you will start the ascent through mountain tracks towards the limestone massif of Cotiella, a geological jewel of the Aragonese Pyrenees that holds one of its most hidden treasures: the Ibón de Plan, also known as the Basa de la Mora, a lake of glacial origin surrounded by mountains, pastures and high mountain forests.
During the walk, you will cross black pine forests and alpine meadows, while the guide will tell you the stories and curiosities that surround this area, as well as its glacial formation. As you ascend, the views will become increasingly wider and more spectacular, until you reach an altitude of 1, 910 metres, where the landscape opens up into a natural amphitheatre dominated by the peaks of Cotiella.
From there you will leave the vehicle and continue on foot along a mountain path that is comfortable but requires some attention. It will take you about 40 minutes to reach the ibón: a crystalline lake that reflects the mountains like a mirror. Here you will have time to observe the surroundings calmly, the guide will have a spotting scope and binoculars, and with luck, you will be able to spot chamois, deer and small Pyrenean amphibians such as the newt or the frog that live in this unique environment.
After enjoying the landscape and discovering the geological and natural secrets of the area, you will set off on your return journey. In total, you will experience 4 hours of nature, discovery and amazement, in a private experience that combines the comfort of a 4x4 with the thrill of walking to one of the most magical corners of the Pyrenees.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for all ages, but it is not recommended to participate with children under the age of 1.
Minors may participate accompanied by a responsible adult.
Pregnant women can participate at their own risk. They must inform the organisers in advance of their condition. You will receive the contact details of the organisers in the booking confirmation email.
This activity is not recommended for people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility, as it includes sections of mountain trail that require some attention and stability when walking.

The guide will adapt the experience according to your preferences: you can choose to spend more time hiking or enjoy the 4x4 tour for longer. This is a personalised experience.
The meeting point is not accessible by public transport. Free parking is available on site.
It is necessary to communicate in advance the age of all participants in order to adapt the experience and provide the appropriate equipment.
Baby seats are available (from 0 to 18 kg and with backrest for older children) . If a baby (over 1 year old) is participating, you must inform the organisers in advance.
Pets are allowed to participate, depending on their type and size (additional cost) . It is important to contact the organisers in advance to assess, depending on the time of year, if it is possible to bring them.
A mountain taxi service is available for pick-up and drop-off at a cost of approximately €0. 78/km. To book this service, please contact the organisers directly.
The tour is conducted in English or Spanish. You will need to tell the organisers in advance which language you prefer to do the experience in.
In case of bad weather, the organisers may propose an alternative route through nearby areas of natural and geological interest, accessible only by 4x4 vehicle.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
