The perfect setting for an adventure… on film!
Settle into a 4x4 and spend two hours exploring the iconic Tabernas Desert. Amidst dry riverbeds, eroded canyons and sea beds dating back 10 million years, you’ll discover the geology, wildlife, flora and hidden corners that have served as the backdrop for legendary film productions.
A landscape sculpted by wind and time that you simply mustn’t miss in Almería.
What we will do
Our guide and driver will meet us at the meeting point in Tabernas, Almería, about 5 minutes before departure. Once we’ve all gathered, we’ll board the 4x4 to head into the heart of the Tabernas Desert nature reserve .
The 4x4 route will take us through the interior of an ancient sedimentary basin of marine origin, whilst we marvel at its stunning landscapes, some of which are full of contrasts. Along the way, we’ll make several interpretative stops during which the guide will explain the geological features, as well as the flora and fauna adapted to this extreme environment.
We’ll discover the ancient coastline, which is 10 million years old! We’ll follow its trail in the 4x4 until we reach a panoramic viewpoint from where we can fully appreciate the famous Tabernas badlands . At each point along the route, we’ll have time to take photos and admire the scenery.
Although we won’t be visiting the settlements to the west, we’ll have time to discuss the fundamental role of the Tabernas Desert in the history of cinema, whilst exploring the very same locations featured in films and series starring legendary characters such as Indiana Jones or the Dothraki from *Game of Thrones*.
The experience will last a total of 2 hours.

The experience is suitable for all ages.
Children must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult.
If you’re bringing young children who still need a child seat, you’ll need to bring your own ( please note that the vehicles are not compatible with the Isofix system) . Booster seats are available for older children ; please check with the guide.
This experience is not recommended for pregnant women; should they choose to take part, they do so at their own risk.
The vehicles are not wheelchair-accessible; you may take part if you remain seated inside the 4x4 and do not make the two stops that require walking. People with minor mobility issues may request assistance.

Tours run all year round and each trip is confirmed once a minimum group of 3 adults has been reached.
There are three 4x4s available, each with a different capacity, which the guides will allocate depending on the number of participants.
The experience is pet-friendly, but bringing your pet along requires payment of an extra fee, which varies depending on the pet’s weight. Please contact the guides for further information on this matter. You will receive their contact details in the booking confirmation email.
There is free public parking at the meeting point. Although it doesn’t happen very often, it is possible to reach the area by bus from Almería.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is last minute. You get a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours from the activity start. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
