3-hour 4x4 Granada Geopark tour

Say goodbye to the routine with an afternoon of adventure in a 4x4 through the wildest side of Granada.

Drive for approximately 3 hours through the most surprising corners of the Geopark: cross Pinares towards the impressive desert of Gorafe and visit Los Colorados, stop at ancient dolmens, pass through historic villages, and enter an authentic troglodyte cave, with a guide who will turn each stop into a story full of curiosities.

What we will do

We will meet 15 minutes before the agreed time in Guadix, in the heart of the Geopark of Granada. There we will be met by our guide, who will put us in explorer mode as he tells us what awaits us and clears up any doubts before we get into the 4x4.

We will start by crossing the extensive pine forests of the Guadix region, huge pine forests that contrast with the arid terrain that we will see later on, when the landscape changes radically as we enter the Gorafe desert. This place, known as Los Colorados, looks like the Grand Canyon itself, made up of badlands, reddish clays and sands sculpted by thousands of years of wind and water. Here we will stop to contemplate its impossible shapes and take photos that will look like something out of another planet.

Along the way we will also visit ancient Stone Age dolmens that served as collective tombs, and discover their secrets at a stop. We will then continue our route, with incredible views on either side, towards a very special visit: an authentic troglodyte cave dug into the mountain, where our guide will tell us how people lived here until just a few decades ago. Crossing the threshold will be like travelling back in time.

Throughout the route, the guide will share stories, anecdotes and curiosities about the Geopark and its people, while the 4x4 takes us along paths that seem to have no end.

The route will end back at the starting point, after covering between 70 and 80 km of incredible landscapes, living history and places that very few have seen.

In total, it will be about 3 hours of discovery and nature in an unforgettable adventure.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone and no previous experience is required.

Minors can participate accompanied by a responsible adult or with a signed authorisation.

If you have reduced mobility or use a wheelchair, you can participate, but it will be necessary to inform the organisers in advance. You will receive the contact details in your booking confirmation email.

Other information

The activity is available all year round, and is confirmed with a minimum of 4 participants.

The route is done in a 4x4 vehicle with capacity for 7 people, perfect for getting into the most remote and difficult to access corners of the Geopark.

Accompanying persons and pets can wait quietly at the ranch.

Free parking is available on site.

The meeting point is accessible by public transport. There is a city bus stop only 200 metres from the ranch, although with limited frequency.
