2-hour horseback riding route through the Granada Geopark

Fancy riding through a landscape that looks like something out of a Wild West movie?

Get ready for a thrilling 2 hour ride through the Granada Geopark, riding through gullies, mountains and formations that look like they're from another planet. You'll help groom the horses and learn the basics of connecting with your new four-legged companion. Afterwards, you'll experience an adventure through the mountains, along the Rambla de Zalaco, past Moorish caves and breathe in history in the best way possible.

What we will do

We will meet 15 minutes before the agreed time in Guadix, right in the heart of the Geopark of Granada, on the hidden face of the Sierra Nevada. There we will start the adventure with a very special first contact: we will go together to pick up the horses from the corraliza, take them to the preparation area, brush them, put on the harness and share a few quiet minutes to get to know them closely. Our friendly equestrian guide will explain the basics so that we can understand how to ride them, and how to communicate better with them from the very beginning. It will be a time of authentic connection and learning before we head out on the trail.

Then, we will be assigned a horse according to our profile, and we will go out in a group, always accompanied by our guide. The groups are small, with a maximum of 4 people, so the experience is very close and personalised.

Once we are ready and with our helmets on, we will start the route of about 1 hour and a half. We will ride through a landscape that looks like something out of an epic tale. We will ride through gullies and rock formations that change colour depending on the light of day, as if we were exploring another planet.

We will feel the strength of the terrain under our helmets, the wind caressing our faces and the thrill of discovering something new. We will pass through the Rambla de Zalaco, and we will also explore authentic hidden Arab caves, while the guide tells us stories of conquests and legends that marked the history of these lands.

At every step, we will enjoy spectacular landscapes that will take our breath away. And when the adventure comes to an end, we will return to the equestrian ranch after riding about 4 km of pure nature and emotion.

In total it will be 2 hours of fun, discovery and connection in an experience that you will want to repeat.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for children aged 5 and over. Minors can participate accompanied by a responsible adult or with a signed authorisation.

The activity is easy, ideal even if it is your first time on horseback.

To participate, you must not exceed 80 kg in weight.

The activity is not suitable for pregnant women who have no previous experience on horseback.

If you have reduced mobility or use a wheelchair, you can still take part, but you will need to let the organisers know in advance. You will receive contact details in your booking confirmation email.

The activity is available all year round, and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.

It will be necessary to inform the organiser of your weight, height and level of experience in advance, using the contact details indicated in the booking confirmation email.

English and western riding is used. The guide participates on horseback.

Companions and pets are welcome on the route; they can follow the route on foot or wait quietly at the ranch. Only docile and well-controlled dogs are allowed on the trail in front of the horses to ensure a safe experience for all.

Free parking is available on site.

The meeting point is accessible by public transport. There is a city bus stop just 200 metres from the ranch, although with limited frequency.
